Microsoft to Invest $1.5 Billion in Abu Dhabi’s G42 Tech Conglomerate


Microsoft said it would invest $1.5 billion in G42, the Abu Dhabi-based technology conglomerate that has been under scrutiny for its ties to China.

As part of the deal, the two companies said they would jointly create a $1 billion fund for developers. Microsoft President Brad Smith will join G42’s board, while G42 will run its AI applications and services on Microsoft’s Azure cloud service.
